Ombudsman is proud to announce a new partnership with Pilsen Neighbors Community Council, which began during Fiesta del Sol in 2022. This partnership provides an alternative option for students to earn a Chicago Public Schools diploma.
The partnership is designed to help students develop skills through career certifications and gain college readiness while preparing students for high school graduation success. In addition, Ombudsman offers flexible schedules and education programs tailored to each student’s individual needs. No matter what took a student off their path to graduation, Ombudsman has the solution to get them back on track and to the finish line.
This partnership is one of the first steps taken by the Community Education Center, one of the foundational pillars of the Leader Development Institute and is the new home of Pilsen Neighbors Community Council.
The Community Education Center aims to provide a pathway to a better quality of life for these students. Their main goal is to re-engage non-traditional students into educational pathways, such as 2-year colleges, certification programs, and trades. The goal of the Community Education Center is to transform these students into career-ready candidates, and Ombudsman High School’s mission perfectly aligns with that goal.
Enrollment is open year-round for students 16-21 who live in Chicago. For more information about this partnership and Pilsen Neighbors, visit https://www.pilsenneighbors.org/ombudsman/.
