Letter from the Principal

Hello and welcome to a brand-new start in Roseland!

Robert is wearing a bright red shirt and a purple tie and smiles at the cameraAs principal of the new Ombudsman Roseland campus, I want to welcome our students and their families. Ombudsman is designed to provide an alternative option to the traditional school environment. If you have dropped out or are struggling at CPS, you are welcome at Ombudsman Roseland.

We opened this location at the start of the 2019-20 school year because we know this community has a need for a safe, convenient and flexible place to learn, where students do not have to choose between earning their high school diploma and earning a paycheck. Many of our students take advantage of our flexible four-hour school days to work or care for their families while attending Ombudsman. The special resources we offer help our students manage the stress of life and school and prepare for a successful future. We understand the challenges Roseland students face every day and our staff is dedicated to working with and through those challenges to help students earn their diplomas and achieve a bright future.

As principal, it is my job to ensure my students are successful. I will encourage each person who walks through these doors to take ownership of their futures, develop a plan for pursuing their dreams and work hard every day to realize their goals. It will not always be easy, but it will always be possible. My team and I are here to help every step of the way.

I am excited about the opportunity to lead Ombudsman Roseland. I believe in the power of community, and the students and parents I have already met in Roseland have shown me what a great community this is. Together, we will accomplish great things. Here’s to the start of a bright future together!

Robert Turner,
Principal
Ombudsman Roseland
