Letter from the Principal

Ombudsman is designed to provide an Alternative Learning Option to the traditional school environment. Before becoming the principal of Ombudsman Chicago Roseland Campus, I served in different positions at the Ombudsman Chicago South Campus. From 2014 to 2019, I served Ombudsman Chicago South as a History Teacher, Lead Teacher, and Assistant Principal.

We opened the Roseland location at the start of the 2019-20 school year because we knew the community needed a safe, convenient, and flexible place to learn, where students do not have to choose between earning their high school diploma and earning a paycheck. Many of our students take advantage of our flexible five-hour school days to work or care for their families while attending Ombudsman. We offer unique resources to our students to manage the stress of life and school and to prepare for a successful future. We understand the challenges our students face every day, and our staff is dedicated to working with and through those challenges to help students earn their diplomas and achieve a bright future.

Due to the current pandemic we are facing, we will be starting this school year in remote learning. Students must log in to their remote classes daily to ensure academic success. Students will be given a 5-hour class schedule that will designate times for remote classrooms. The expectation is that students will log into their classrooms five days a week.  Students who do not attend remote classes and complete assignments stand the risk of failing the course. This is not the school’s desire. Supporting our students is a priority for academic success. Each student will have a support team that will be in contact to provide support and any updates.


Our school follows the CPS calendar for progress reports and end of quarter dates.

As principal, it is my job to ensure my students are successful. I will encourage each person to take ownership of their future, develop a plan for pursuing their dreams, and work hard every day to realize their goals. It will not always be easy, but it will always be possible. My team and I are here to help every step of the way. Parents will be receiving weekly newsletters that will highlight student achievements, important upcoming dates such as SAT & Parent University Night, and what is going on in the Roseland community.

I am excited about the opportunity to lead Ombudsman Roseland. I believe in the power of community, and the students and parents I have already met in Roseland have shown me what a great community this is. Together, we will accomplish great things. We are better together, and we are on our way to a bright future!
