Activities & Clubs

Students at Ombudsman Chicago South participate in sports, music, art and other programs that add to their classroom experience.

They participate in the Chicago Park District Alternative Athletics Program in football, volleyball, basketball, soccer, and softball. Students participate in our Art Club and our A Capella Group, which has performed at several school events. A Spanish Club allows students to celebrate and learn about the Spanish culture, customs and community, and students produce a monthly newsletter that highlights activities and achievements of the Ombudsman Chicago South family.

Students can also sign up for the Young Music Giants after-school program. Through this program, students are given the time, attention and tools to develop their passion for music and translate their experiences into academic and life success. By participating in YMG, students will improve attendance and stay in school, and include vital social-emotional tools into their broader learning experience. South offers additional clubs in cosmetology and Pom Poms that support interests in the self care fields and promotes school spirit.
