Ombudsman Chicago South helps prepare students for life after high school. We offer a post-secondary program that helps students identify their goals after graduation – employment, college or military service – and helps them get there.
We also offer programs with Rasmussen College and City Colleges of Chicago for students to earn college credit while in high school. We have post-secondary counselors who help students write resumes and cover letters and complete job applications; research their future careers and anticipate the impact a career can have on all aspects of their life; and research colleges, complete an application for Free Application for Federal Students Aid (FAFSA), and apply for scholarships.
Job placement and training services are provided by a partnership with Metropolitan Family Services.
We also offer a certification program with Chicago Builds, a two-year off-campus construction training program for 11th and 12th grade students interested in a career in construction, additional construction internships with Amer-I-Can. Our college and career fairs, field trips, college campus tours and guest speakers help students explore options for life after graduation.
