Building Principal Lytina Lampley

It’s a pleasure to meet you! I’m Building Principal Lyntina Lampley, and while I’ve worked with Ombudsman for more than three years, I’m the newest member of the Ombudsman West Team.

The Ombudsman Chicago West staff is an energized and deeply committed team, and we are excited to welcome all of our students and families back to school. We believe that all students have value, can learn, and can develop their inherent talents to become contributing members of society. We strive to challenge students to grow as well-rounded young adults and to be ready for college or a career when they leave Ombudsman Chicago West.

Our staff believes that a strong partnership with our students’ families makes a great difference in their education. As partners, we share the responsibility for students’ success and we will do our very best to fulfill our responsibilities to you and your child. We ask your help in guiding and supporting your child’s learning.

Report to school daily

It’s important to be on time every day. The AM session begins promptly at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 11:30 a.m.; the PM Session begins promptly at noon and ends at 4:00 p.m. Our welcoming staff members will greet students to begin each session, and each session will end with a brief meeting when important announcements and information will be shared and questions will be answered.

Call in absences

Parents are to notify the Main Office of all student absences. Please call (312) 243-1550 before or on the day of the absence. If parent notification is not received, the absence will be recorded as unexcused. An unexcused absence will be defined as truancy and you will receive a call from one our truancy specialists.

Avoid bringing cell phones/electronic devices

Cell phones and non-educational electronic devices are not to be used on school grounds. They will collected at the door and kept with security until the end of the session. We are not liable for
personal property on our campus.

There will be a number of events that we will be asking parents/guardians to attend in order to help build a sense of community among all parties.

We anticipate an exceptional year as we work together to improve the lives of children and our community. I invite you to contact us if you have any questions or comments, and I thank you for your continued support. We look forward to working closely with you.
