Ombudsman Chicago West is a member of the Chicago Park District Alternative Athletics League and participates in football, volleyball, basketball, softball and track. We have also participated in the Cease for Peace Basketball League, in which students play basketball with Chicago Police Department officers. Off the basketball court, students and police partner to address community violence through peace circles.
Students can also sign up for the new YES Audio Achievers after-school program. Through this program, students are given the time, attention and tools to develop their passion for music and translate their experiences into academic and life success. By participating in YES, students will improve attendance and stay in school, and include vital social-emotional tools into their broader learning experience.
